The data breaches at large retailers recently have gotten all of our attention.
To keep your transactions secure, Bankrate recommends using credit cards versus a debit card.
That's because credit cards offer consumers greater protection in case someone steals your card.
If you are going to use a debit card, opt to use a signature instead of a pin number.
And don't forget to switch out passwords frequently and vary them.
Using the same one for multiple accounts leaves you vulnerable if a hacker gets access to just one account.

If  you're a mom trying to figure out what to do with all your kids' outgrown clothes and toys, here's a way to make a quick buck.
A mom started the 'Just Between Friends' national franchise which has grown from 17 consigners in her living room  to over 140 consigners and a half a million customers.
It's a community- based consignment sale of children's and maternity clothing that leverages the power of social media and mommy bloggers.

According to Sports Illustrated, 78 percent of former NFL players are bankrupt, or close to it.
Former Tennessee Titan Eddie George says he's made millions, and has lost millions.
Another former Titan, Myron Rolle, says he had no idea about credit when he was drafted.
It doesn't matter how much you make,  it matters what you do with it.
This is a good reality check for most of us, not just NFL players.
I blogged about financial responsibility tonight.  You can check it out here at this link and let me know if you agree. You Money
