First up, don't fly spring break.  That's the advice from savings blogger Sami Cone,  the Staycation Queen who says, "You don't want to play into the game that happens with hotels, with airfares and even some restaurants will hike prices up in a high season during spring break."

For example, Airfare for just one to certain spots in the Caribbean during spring break runs up to $1,000.  That same ticket in late April is just a  few hundred bucks.

Number 2, book backwards.  This means choose the destination first, something 2-3 hours away like Wild Bear Falls indoor water park in the Smokeys or the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. Then get great savings by asking about their hotel and restaurant partners.  They already have deals set up with those partners that can save you 20% to 30% according to Cone.

A lot of places even have free add ons, like Keeper Kids at the Tennessee Aquarium,  where kids choose 2 free up close encounters like feeding the marine life or behind the scenes with scuba divers like Cone's kids did.

Finally,  many destinations give a percentage off to homestate visitors, but you don't get the discount if you don't ask.Saving You Money: 3 Spring Break Savings Secrets
