Fire Sparks Musican to Give Back - Stacy McCloud

NASHVILLE, TN - - Singer songwriter Rebecca Roubion  came to Nashville 3 years ago and started working hard on a two part EP.
"Fields", which is an album full of upbeat souring ballads and "Forests", the follow up EP, with four darker songs.

But Rebecca's project took a different turn when she almost lost everything after a candle caused a fire in her home, catching a box of her albums on fire. "These songs are my babies. I spend time creating and birthing them so it was emotional" says Rebecca.

To Rebecca's surprise the albums weren't a total loss. "I was able to salvage 31 of them." So with charred edges, she marked them with a red cross and is selling them anyway.  "I said there has to be some story I can tell with these records and something I can do to make these specific records purposeful."

She started a campaign called "From Ashes". For the entire month of November, proceeds from a benefit concert and both EP's will go to two charities that  help people affected by natural disasters.  "The Red Cross money we raise goes to other victims of fire and Sound Rorest we are planting a forest sanctuary to rebuild from the Nashville flood ."

Rebecca says she sees the irony in her situation  and hopes that from the ashes her story inspires. "I think there is beauty in the fact these were affected in a negative way but you can make them into something really beautiful."

You can find her albums on Itunes. For more information on a physical copy of an album - click here
