NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Chris Young has no problem joking about his recent health scare.  "I missed timed my album. I should have been sick later, that way we could say, we don't know if he's gonna make it, so this may be his last record, go buy it."

He may be laughing now, but two weeks ago no one was laughing when Chris was rushed to the emergency room. "I was fine leaving Nashville and when I landed in Denver I was so sick that they had to put me in an ambulance and I went straight to ICU."

Chris had a small cut on his leg, to be specific an ingrown hair. He didn't think a thing about it and certainly never thought the two were related. "Everything happened so quick. From being fine to being concerned about I have time to think about it."

Turns out that small cut somehow developed into a bacterial infection resulting in Septic Shock. "My blood pressure was dropping fast, so they had me on 3 blood pressure medicines, one being the strongest out there."

Chris was rushed into emergency surgery hours later. "They said the surgery couldn't wait because they were concerned about organ failure. That is never anything you wanna hear when in hospital."

Chris spent a few days recovering in the hospital. He had to cancel some shows, but was back at it quickly and grateful for the jabs from his tour  mates! "We are on tour with Brad Paisley and as soon as he heard I was okay, Brad said, it is great to hear your operation for the face lift went so well."

Thankfully there are no long term affects from the infection or surgery, making Chris more eager than ever to be back on stage. "Thinks like that make you think about how lucky you are to be healthy."

Chris is busy promoting his new album, which is available September 17th.
