TIGER WOODS: FORMER PORN ACTRESS RELEASES TEXTS

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A former porn actress says she isn't trying to get even with Tiger Woods for allegedly having an affair with her. Rather, Joslyn James claims she wants people to know the truth about their relationship -- and not just judge her for sleeping with a married man. James has posted more than 100 messages on her Web site -- messages she claims came from Woods. The messages, among other things, hint he arranged to have her stay at the same hotel when he was on the road. Some of the messages hinted at a desire for rough sex. For example, in some dated August 29, the message sender says he wants to slap her and that she should beg the next time he was with her. A request from for comment from a Woods spokesman wasn't immediately returned.

The release of the texts comes days after Woods announced that he would be returning to compete at this year's Masters, April 8.

WHITNEY HOUSTON: ATTORNEY ISSUES DENIAL OF TABLOID REPORTS

NEW YORK (AP) -- Even in these times, it's rare that a major star goes on record to deny a tabloid report. But that's what Whitney Houston and her people are doing. In a statement, Houston's attorney is denying a report in the National Enquirer that Houston is headed back to rehab for drug use. The tab had recently run a story saying Houston had collapsed from drug and booze use during over overseas tour. The statement from attorney Marty Singer says what the Enquirer is reporting: "did not happen." The statement says the Enquirer continues to put out false stories about Houston -- stories the lawyer says are "comprised of brazen lies cobbled together from claims made by anonymous stories." And Singer adds that the only people who would believe those stories are people "who don't care about the truth and who want to read lies."

<RYAN SEACREST: LOOSE TWEETS SINK RATINGS

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Seacrest....Oops! A tweet from "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest spilled the beans on Wednesday's results show. And that may have doomed the ratings for the broadcast among young viewers. The Washington Post reports this week's results show had its lowest audience of 18-to-49 year olds for a regular reason episode. And Seacrest's fast fingers may have been to blame. Seacrest tried to plug his radio show in Los Angeles by telling Twitter followers that he would have ousted singer Lacey Brown on his show the following day. But his tweet was posted before Idol aired on the West Coast. Fans tweeted back in anger, saying they wouldn't bother to watch because Seacrest spoiled the ending. No comment on all of this from Fox -- the network hasn't returned calls seeking a reaction.

LACEY BROWN: SAD SONGS SAY SO MUCH

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Maybe she can write a ballad about how much she loves slow songs. Lacey Brown says her attachment to torch songs may have cost her votes on "American Idol" -- but that's OK with her. She says she loves "telling a story" and getting into the emotion of a song -- so she leans toward slow songs. She was voted off the show this week after drawing the fewest viewer votes. Brown also says she used to be very withdrawn, until she became a teenager and decided that she "didn't want to be shy anymore."

CONAN O'BRIEN: LOOKING "FOX"-Y?

NEW YORK (AP) -- The next battle over the 11:30 talk show slot could see Conan O'Brien going head-to-head against Jay Leno. There's continuing talk that O'Brien might end up taking a job with Fox to host a late night comedy show. No one is confirming that anything is concrete at this point, but O'Brien's rep says the two sides "are definitely talking" -- but adds O'Brien is talking with other outlets about work. Meanwhile, O'Brien has a cross-country comedy tour that starts next month.

RON WASHINGTON: DID POT AND AMPHETAMINES AS PLAYER

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) -- Some new revelations from Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington. One day after acknowledging he failed a drug test for cocaine last year, Washington is talking about some stuff he did while he was a player. He says he smoked pot and used amphetamines while he was a player. Washington played 10 seasons in the majors, mostly as an infielder for Minnesota in the 1980s -- a decade when coke and amphetamine use in the majors was not uncommon. Rangers general manager Jon Daniels says the team is aware that Washington did drugs as a player -- and that the field manager will keep his job.

BARACK OBAMA: STUDYING BRACKETOLOGY

NEW YORK (AP) -- So how are YOUR NCAA brackets looking? So far, Barack Obama is doing well -- except for teams hailing from the Big East. Through the first 12 games of the NCAA tournament, Obama had correctly predicted all but three results in his bracket. All three losses were by Big East teams: Georgetown, Notre Dame and Marquette. Obama's Final Four remains tact: Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky and Villanova.

HAITI ABOUT TO HAVE SOME OF ITS DEBT FORGIVEN

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Obama administration says it's near agreement with other nations to cancel the $447 million Haiti owes to the Inter-American Development Bank. Treasury Department officials expect a deal to be struck this weekend to wipe the slate on Haiti's debt to the bank, which serves as a major source of development funds for the Caribbean and Latin America. After January's earthquake, the Obama administration said it would try to cancel debt owed by Haiti to IADB as well as to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

WALMART RACIAL COMMENT INVESTIGATED AS POSSIBLE HATE CRIME

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) -- A prosecutor's office in New Jersey says a racial comment made over the public-address system at a Wal-Mart store is being investigated as a possible hate crime. This past Sunday, a male voice came over the PA system and announced: "Attention, Wal-Mart customers: All black people, leave the store now." The store manager immediately apologized -- and company officials are looking into the incident. Such announcements can be made from phones linked to the store's PA system. Prosecutors say some of the system's phones are accessible to the public -- and some can't be seen by security cameras.
