FOX 17 Nashville Weekend Watch (6/4-6/5)
The Nashville Symphony is performing seven free outdoor concerts this summer, in parks across the Mid State. They'll visit Lebanon, Lafayette, Antioch, Brentwood, and Nashville all during the month of June. Friday, June 3rd you can head to Bicentennial Mall for a Symphony concert starting at 8:00 p.m. On Sunday, June 5th the Symphony is performing at 7:00 p.m.at Crockett Park. You can bring your blanket or lawn chair, pack a picnic, and enjoy the Nashville Symphony under the stars. Nashville Symphony conductor Vinay Parameswaran tells Fox17, "It's a great way to spend your summer evening. You get to hear a Grammy-award winning orchestra in all these beautiful places we have in Middle Tennessee, so I just encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the music."
On Saturday, food lovers can head to 12th south for a Nashville grub crawl sponsored by Bon Appetit magazine. You can eat your way through the 12th Sough neighborhood and sample cuisine from some of the best local restaurants. The mobile feast goes from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The big band dance returns to Centennial Park this weekend for its 33rd year. Saturday night from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. you can dance to live big band music at the park. If you don't know how to dance, there are free lessons during the evening. You can pack a picnic, or buy dinner from one of the food trucks at the park.
