Americans to spend record $9 billion on Halloween
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The latest survey from the National Retail Federation says Americans will spend a record $9 billion on Halloween this year.
The total is $700 million more compared to last year and men are expected to spend $20 more than women in an effort to get their costumes just right.
Here are some more numbers to crunch from the U.S. Census Bureau:
-41.1 million: Estimated number of trick-or-treaters in 2015
-$12.4 million: Value of imported pumpkins in 2016.
-$1.92 billion: Estimated private construction spending on theme and amusement parks in 2016.
-66.6 million: Number of housing units where you had to climb steps to get candy in 2015.
