How do you clean it?

There is a level of dirt most of us accept as "normal"... but every once in a while the urge hits you to start scrubbing.  It is about that time when you realize how many hard to clean items you have. This is the perfect site to bookmark so you can come back to it when you need to: www.howtocleanstuff.net  First up: Stuffed animals!  I have a hundred of these at the house. They are so awkward to clean. Do you hose them off in the sink?  Dump them in the washer? Here is what the website suggests: Give them a good surface cleaning with a vacuum attachment.  You can even dust them in cornmeal for a dry shampoo treatment before you vacuum them off. Then if you need to have a spot treatment, do that with a Q-Tip or a damp cloth. And for the really gross toys?  Put them in a zippered pillowcase and drop them in the washing machine on the handwash or gentle cycle. Also on the site: How to clean your Keurig with a toothbrush and vinegar and How to get stains off of untreated wood. Now, aren't you inspired to clean?

Seize the Summer!

The last few days of Summer are here!  Davidson County schools and several others are going back to the classroom on Aug. 1st.  Don't let the summer slip away without making the most of it.

Check out www.thesavvysource.com

When you are on there click on Nashville and check out the list of activities that will have you squeezing every last drop out of Summer!

Get out and enjoy a game of mini golf.  Grand Old Golf is one example of where you can hit the mini-links before August.

Also check DinoTrek at the Nashville Zoo.  It ends on July 31st and if you head over to the Zoo on July 28th it's Ice Day!  They freeze treats for all the animals to try.

Nashville Shores is another great option.  They have year end pricing for the last few days of Summer.

And if you want to get out of town... try Cave City, Kentucky.  They have horse back riding, guntown mountain and Dinosaur World are there as well as Kentucky Down Under.

Finally, it's not Summer 'til you see the Sounds play ball!  They have a home stretch through the end of July, so take me out to the ballgame!

Get Organized!

I have dreams where everything is organized. Where I can open a cabinet and not have plastic tupperware bowls fall on my head. One day I will get there. For now, I will go online for help.
Check out http://www.orgjunkie.com.
Most of us would love to be more organized, but we don't have the time. Well, Laura does and she has devoted her extra time to writing about her organizing obsession on her website. It may seem overwhelming, but hse makes it simple to start. Just click on the drop down screen that says "Start Here". Pretty easy, Right? She has lists on how to consolidate, how to create a command center and how to declutter. It is a process. Think of it as a marathon, not a sprint. So give yourself time and check out http://www.orgjunkie.com
It's our Surf Site of the day. So, what is the one thing you need the most help in organizing? Let me know at ksutton@fox17.com

HELLOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Hello everybody!  Welcome to my blog!  Even though I talk for 4 hours a day, sometimes I don't get to share it all with you. This is going to be the place where I can give you the behind-the-scenes info, plus I'll share my "Surf Site of the Day".  I love hearing from you! Feel free to send me an email  ksutton@fox17.com. So, let's get started.Surf Site of the Day :http://www.fibers.com  How many T-Shirts do yo have?  How many do you ACTUALLY wear? Well, if you are like me, those two numbers are drastically different.  I have a few favorites and I wear them all the time. What if you could design your own T-Shirt with no iron-ons, puffy paint or bedazzling required?  Here is the site to do it: http://www.fibers.com  You must have flash on your computer to use it, so no designing on your iPad (boo).  It is very easy to figure out.  You can start with a template they have designed or you can start from scratch.  Upload your favorite picture, logo or design and you are in business!  The prices aren't too bad either.  They start at $13.99.  It's a great idea for Birthday parties, Disney trips or family reunions.  The more you buy, the cheaper they are.  So head over to www.fibers.com and become a fashion mogul!  When your friends ask where you got that shirt you can say "I designed it". Ha!
