Gym etiquette: Got manners? - 03/13/14

Tomorrow morning, we'll be talking about gym etiquette and how so many people these days don't have any.

Bob was sharing his stories and we'll have Nashville mommy blogger "Mother Cusser" on talking about her experience at the gym.  Hint, she's going "gorilla" style.

I've seen it.  I know you have too.  You know what I'm talking about.  Whether it's the grunting, the hogging of the machines, letting children workout in adult group workout classes...

THE PRINCESS EFFECT

LONDON (AP) -- Pretty in pink is good for British businesses. Retailers say the birth of a baby princess over the weekend should help boost sales for years to come. The former Kate Middleton and Prince William now have a baby girl, who joins big brother, Prince George. The experts say girls around the world will want to emulate a real-life princess. Retailers predict everything from hairstyles to dresses likely will get a royal lift.

LABOR-MARIJUANA LEGALIZATION

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Organized labor is high on legal pot -- at least in California. The United Food and Commercial Workers' Western States Council is helping in the effort to get a pot legalization measure on the 2016 ballot. The Sacramento Bee reports the labor group already has a foothold in the marijuana industry. Labor represents about 1,000 workers in legal medical marijuana businesses in California.

GRADUATING GRANDMOTHER

MIAMI (AP) -- Rosa Salgado is a graduating granny. The 79-year-old grandmother graduated from Miami Dade College's Wolfson campus over the weekend, along with two of her grandchildren. The Miami Herald reports Salgado earned a degree in education with honors. A former professor notes Salgado's English was limited when she started but she preserved. She moved to Miami from her native Colombia in 1995. Salgado says her message to fellow students is that you have to "fight to learn because learning is wonderful."

STOLEN AIRPLANE-ARREST

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) -- The accusation is grand theft auto. But the crime is grand theft airplane. Authorities in Las Vegas report 27-year-old Evan Grant is accused of stealing an airplane for a flight over Sin City. Police say the suspect was eventually talked into landing the twin-engine plane at North Las Vegas airport, where he trained as a student pilot. KSNV-TV reports the illicit flight was monitored by air traffic controllers for more than an hour. Grant was booked into the Las Vegas city jail for investigation of grand larceny auto, a charge that also covers aircraft.
