Looking forward to CMA - 06/02/14

I hope you guys get a chance go this year.  It's one of my favorite events that occur here in Nashville.  When you walk down Broadway it's just full of life.  People are really excited about being there.  It's really nice to just walk from one venue to the next seeing all sorts of different singers.  It's always a good time for me to go find new songs to download as well.  Plus the surprises are always amazing too.  Last year at LP field Lenny Kravits popped up on stage.  Who knows what surprises will happen this year.  All I know is that I'll be down there to see them!  Hope to see you guys too!

LENA DUNHAM WANTS PROPOSAL

NEW YORK (AP) -- "Girls" star Lena Dunham wants to be a married lady. The creator of the HBO comedy tweets to her boyfriend Jack Antonoff to, "Get on it, yo..." The New York Post reports the couple had pointedly said they wouldn't get married until everyone had the right to marry in the U.S. Dunham's public message to her main squeeze follows the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that same-sex couples can get hitched in all 50 states.

MILITARY FAMILIES-ZOO

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Members of the military and their families are getting a zoo thank-you. Columbus Zoo officials say active-duty service members and veterans will be able to visit the zoo in central Ohio for free this week. It's in recognition of their sacrifices in service to the country. The zoo freebie starts today and continues through the fifth. Spouses and kids of service members will get in free, too.

CONFEDERATE FLAG-ICE CREAM SHOP

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- It's not our flag. That's what the new owners of a South Carolina ice cream shop are saying. There's a Confederate battle flag in front of the Edisto River Creamery in Orangeburg. Owners Tommy and Debbie Daras tell the Times and Democrat, the flagpole sits on a tiny parcel of land deeded to the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. Now, the Daras say they are getting threats and angry messages, over a Confederate flag which they can't do anything about.

GUAM SEAL CHANGES

AGANA, Guam (AP) -- There's a goof on the flag of Guam. Jose Martinez is one of those pointing out a mistake on the flag and seal of the U.S territory. The flag depicts a flying proa, a type of outrigger canoe. Martinez is the secretary of Traditions Affirming our Seafaring Ancestry. He says the outrigger is on the wrong side. He adds if canoes were built that way they wouldn't sail and compares it to drawing a car with triangle wheels. Martinez tells the Pacific Daily News the flag should be fixed.
